Floorball Western Australia (FWA) is excited to announce that it has been successful in securing a $150,000 grant through the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries and LotteryWest’s Asian Engagement Funding for its project Beyond Borders: Singapore – WA Floorball Development Alliance, over a period of three years.

The project aims to create strong sporting alliances between FWA and Singaporean Floorball organisations by facilitating a two-way exchange program that will promote cultural exchange and development of the sport.

FWA will focus on creating, facilitating and delivering opportunities for players, coaches, and officials (particularly youth from the ages of 12-19) to learn from each other’s experiences and develop new skills, while building lasting relationships between the two regions.

This will provide an opportunity for FWA to promote Western Australia’s sporting strength, expertise, and high-quality infrastructure by leveraging the state’s existing profile as the largest and strongest Floorball competition in Australia. The project will showcase Western Australia’s sporting infrastructure and facilities to key stakeholders in Singapore, by providing opportunities for athletes, coaches, and officials from both regions to participate in an International Exchange program.

FWA through this project will not only develop the skills and experience of athletes, coaches and officials but also create stronger sporting alliances between Western Australia and Singapore.
