On Friday the 16th of October Floorball WA’s Jono Veron and Kyle Lister trekked to the Shire of Wickepin to run a regional development session of Floorball.
Initially we were told that there hadn’t been much interest, however, much to our surprise nearly a third of the local school population turned out to give it a try. With over 20 kids and multiple parents joining in, the session was a resounding success. Feedback received about the session was extremely positive and apparently kids have been playing Floorball up and down their hallways at home since.
A massive thank you to The State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Lotterywest who is a major supporter of Floorball in Western Australia. Sport and recreation builds stronger, healthier, happier and safer communities.
A big shoutout to Floorball Culture for providing training equipment and their time to deliver the session. Loadstar Trailers for the hire of our trailer to take the goals down.
Last but not least Michelle and Dorry from the Shire of Wickepin for inviting us down. We look forward to seeing the sport grow in our regional centres and provide some competition for all in our great sport. If you live in a regional town and would like to see us come and deliver a session, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
